Zuhayr ibn Muhammad narrated to us; Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abdullah ibn Ata, from Ibn Buraydah, from his father, who said: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, ‘Messenger of Allah, my mother died owing a fast. Should I fast on her behalf?’ He said, ‘Yes.’
