Sunan Ibn Majah 1751
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " مَنْ دُعِيَ إِلَى طَعَامٍ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ فَلْيُجِبْ فَإِنْ شَاءَ طَعِمَ وَإِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ " .

Ahmad ibn Yusuf al-Sulami narrated to us; Abu Asim narrated to us; Ibn Jurayj informed us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘If someone is invited to a meal while fasting, let him accept the invitation. If he wishes, he may eat; and if he wishes, he may leave it.’
