Sunan Ibn Majah 1731
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، غُفِرَ لَهُ سَنَةٌ أَمَامَهُ وَسَنَةٌ بَعْدَهُ " .

Hisham ibn Ammar narrated to us; Yahya ibn Hamzah narrated to us, from Ishaq ibn Abdullah, from Iyad ibn Abdullah, from Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri, from Qatadah ibn al-Nu‘man, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Whoever fasts on the Day of Arafah will be granted forgiveness for a year before him and a year after him.’
