Fasting one day in the cause of Allah Sunan Ibn Majah 1718
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ اللَّيْثِيُّ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ، زَحْزَحَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا "
Translation
It wasnarrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)said
“Whoever fasts one day for the sake of Allah, Allah will movehisface away from the Fire a distance of seventy autumns (years).”
