Nasr ibn 'Ali al-Jahdami narrated to us: Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us: Hajjaj narrated to us: Qatadah narrated to us, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about a man who becomes inattentive to a prayer or sleeps through it. He said: ‘He should pray it when he remembers it.’

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • The Arabic distinguishes heedlessness (يَغْفُلُ) from sleeping through or missing the prayer while asleep (يَرْقُدُ عَنْهَا).
