Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، . أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِتَأْخِيرِ الْعِشَاءِ " .

Hisham ibn 'Ammar narrated to us: Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Were it not that I would burden my community, I would have commanded them to delay the 'Isha prayer.’
