Ali ibn Muhammad reported to us: Abdullah ibn Numayr reported to us: al-Amash reported to us, from Uthman ibn Umayr, from Abu Harb ibn Abi al-Aswad al-Dili, from Abdullah ibn Amr, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) say, ‘The earth has borne no man, nor has the sky shaded any man, more truthful in speech than Abu Dharr.’
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The Arabic is a rhetorical expression using the earth and sky; it is rendered without adding ‘under the sky.’
