Hisham ibn Ammar reported to us: Yahya ibn Hamzah reported to us: al-Awza‘i reported to us, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, ‘A group of people will arise who recite the Quran, but it does not pass beyond their collarbones. Whenever a faction arises, it is cut down.’ Ibn Umar said: I heard the Messenger of Allah say, ‘Whenever a faction arises, it is cut down,’ more than twenty times, ‘until the Antichrist emerges among them.’
