Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā narrated to us: ʿAbd al-Razzāq narrated to us: Maʿmar informed us, from ʿĀṣim ibn Abī al-Najūd, from Zirr ibn Ḥubaysh, who said: I came to Ṣafwān ibn ʿAssāl al-Murādī, and he asked, “What brought you here?” I said, “I am seeking knowledge.” He said: I heard the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, say: “Everyone who leaves his home seeking knowledge has the angels lower their wings for him, in approval of what he is doing.”
