حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَىَّ - حَسِبْتُهُ قَالَ مُتَعَمِّدًا - فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .

Muhammad ibn Rumh al-Misri narrated to us: al-Layth ibn Sad narrated to us, from Ibn Shihab, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever lies about me—I think he said deliberately—let him take his seat in the Fire.
Notes and open questions — unreviewed
The Arabic includes a narrator qualification, I think he said deliberately, interrupting the report. This uncertainty is preserved rather than silently incorporating deliberately as certain wording.
