Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm al-Dimashqī narrated to us: Mubashshir ibn Ismāʿīl al-Ḥalabī narrated to us, from Muʿān ibn Rifāʿah, from ʿAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Bukht al-Makkī, from Anas ibn Mālik, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “May God brighten a servant who hears my words, understands them, then conveys them from me. For perhaps one who carries understanding is not himself learned, and perhaps one carries understanding to someone more learned than he.”
