al-Ḥusayn ibn al-Ḥasan al-Marwazī informed us: Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdī narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Abī Ḥumayd narrated to us: Ḥafṣ ibn ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Anas narrated to us, from Anas ibn Mālik, who said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Among people are those who are keys to good and locks against evil, and among them are those who are keys to evil and locks against good. Blessed is the one through whose hands God places the keys to good, and woe to the one through whose hands God places the keys to evil.”
