حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الأَزْهَرِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَهْرَامَ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَشْهَدُوا أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلاَةَ وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ " .

Ahmad ibn al-Azhar narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Yusuf narrated to us; 'Abd al-Hamid ibn Bahram narrated to us, from Shahr ibn Hawshab, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanm, from Mu'adh ibn Jabal, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no deity but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah, establish prayer, and give zakah.
