حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هَمَّامٍ الدَّلاَّلُ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ مَسْجِدَ الطَّائِفِ حَيْثُ كَانَ طَاغِيَتُهُمْ .

Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us: Abu Hammam al-Dallal narrated to us: Sa'id ibn al-Sa'ib narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Iyad, from 'Uthman ibn Abi al-'As, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to build the mosque of al-Ta'if at the site where their idol had stood.
