Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah reported to us: Abu Khalid al-Ahmar reported to us, from Hajjaj, from Amr ibn Shuayb, from his father, from his grandfather, from Umar ibn al-Khattab, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) say, ‘A parent is not to be killed in retaliation for a child.’
