Sunan Ibn Majah 2406

Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us: Abd al-Aziz ibn Muhammad al-Darawardi narrated to us, from Amr ibn Abi Amr, from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas, who said: During the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, a man was pursuing a debtor who owed him ten dinars. The debtor said, “I have nothing to give you.” The creditor said, “No, by Allah, I will not leave you until you pay me or bring me a guarantor.” He dragged him to the Prophet ﷺ, who asked the creditor, “How long will you give him?” He replied, “One month.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Then I will guarantee him.” The debtor came to him at the time set by the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, “Where did you get this?” He said, “From a mine.” He said, “There is no good in it,” and paid the debt on his behalf.
