حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " يُرْفَعُ الْقَلَمُ عَنِ الصَّغِيرِ وَعَنِ الْمَجْنُونِ وَعَنِ النَّائِمِ " .

Muhammad ibn Bashshar narrated to us: Rawh ibn ʿUbadah narrated to us: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us: al-Qasim ibn Yazid informed us, from ʿAli ibn Abi Talib, that the Messenger of Allah said: ‘The Pen is lifted from the child, the mentally incapacitated person, and the sleeper.’
