A man giving his wife the choice
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْخَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَاخْتَرْنَاهُ . فَلَمْ نَرَهُ شَيْئًا .
Translation
It was narrated that Aishah said
"The Messenger of Allah gave us the choice, and we chose him, and he did not consider it as something (i.e., an effective divorce)."
