Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " مَنْ نَذَرَ أَنْ يُطِيعَ اللَّهَ فَلْيُطِعْهُ وَمَنْ نَذَرَ أَنْ يَعْصِيَ اللَّهَ فَلاَ يَعْصِهِ " .
Translation
Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us; Abu Usamah narrated to us, from ʿUbaydullah, from Talhah ibn ʿAbd al-Malik, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, from ʿAʾishah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: ‘Whoever vows to obey Allah must fulfill it, and whoever vows to disobey Allah must not disobey Him.’
