ʿAbdullah ibn Muhammad al-Zuhri narrated to us; Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Nafiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar—attributing it to the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace)—who said: ‘Whoever swears an oath and makes an exception does not break it.’

رِوَايَةً قَالَ " مَنْ حَلَفَ وَاسْتَثْنَى فَلَمْ يَحْنَثْ " .
روايةً marks the report as raised to the Prophet; واستثنى means making an exception to the oath, conventionally by saying ‘if Allah wills.’
Does the parenthetical attribution and ‘makes an exception’ clearly convey the transmission form and the concise ruling?
