Sunan Ibn Majah 2111
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْنُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، . أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَرَأَى غَيْرَهَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا فَلْيَتْرُكْهَا فَإِنَّ تَرْكَهَا كَفَّارَتُهَا " .
ʿAbdullah ibn ʿAbd al-Muʾmin al-Wasiti narrated to us; ʿAwn ibn ʿUmarah narrated to us; Rawh ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, from ʿUbaydullah ibn ʿUmar, from ʿAmr ibn Shuʿayb, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: ‘Whoever swears an oath and then sees that something else is better, let him abandon it, for abandoning it is its expiation.’
