حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّ جُبَيْرَ بْنَ مُطْعِمٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، جَاءَ هُوَ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُكَلِّمَانِهِ فِيمَا قَسَمَ مِنْ خُمُسِ خَيْبَرَ لِبَنِي هَاشِمٍ وَبَنِي الْمُطَّلِبِ فَقَالاَ قَسَمْتَ لإِخْوَانِنَا بَنِي هَاشِمٍ وَبَنِي الْمُطَّلِبِ وَقَرَابَتُنَا وَاحِدَةٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّمَا أَرَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ وَبَنِي الْمُطَّلِبِ شَيْئًا وَاحِدًا " .

Yūnus ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā narrated to us: Ayyūb ibn Suwayd narrated to us, from Yūnus ibn Yazīd, from Ibn Shihāb, from Saʿīd ibn al-Musayyib, that Jubayr ibn Muṭʿim informed him that he and ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān came to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, to speak with him about the share he had allotted from the fifth of Khaybar to Banū Hāshim and Banū al-Muṭṭalib. They said: “You allotted a share to our brothers, Banū Hāshim and Banū al-Muṭṭalib, while our kinship is one.” The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “I regard Banū Hāshim and Banū al-Muṭṭalib as one.”
