Abu Marwan Muhammad ibn Uthman al-Uthmani narrated to us; Ibrahim ibn Sa‘d narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Sa‘id ibn al-Musayyab, from Sa‘d, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) rejected Uthman ibn Maz‘un’s renunciation of marriage. Had he permitted him, we would have castrated ourselves.
