Sunan Ibn Majah 1849
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ آدَمَ، وَزَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ، . أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ نَهَى عَنِ التَّبَتُّلِ . زَادَ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ وَقَرَأَ قَتَادَةُ {وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلاً مِنْ قَبْلِكَ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَذُرِّيَّةً} .

Bishr ibn Adam and Zayd ibn Akhzam narrated to us; they said: Mu‘adh ibn Hisham narrated to us; my father narrated to us, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Samurah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade renunciation of marriage. Zayd ibn Akhzam added: Qatadah recited, ‘We sent messengers before you and made for them spouses and offspring.’
