حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ، قَالَ خَطَبَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ النِّسَاءَ فَوَعَظَهُمْ فِيهِنَّ ثُمَّ قَالَ " إِلاَمَ يَجْلِدُ أَحَدُكُمُ امْرَأَتَهُ جَلْدَ الأَمَةِ وَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يُضَاجِعَهَا مِنْ آخِرِ يَوْمِهِ " .

Abdullah ibn Zam‘ah said: The Prophet (ﷺ) delivered a sermon and admonished the people concerning women. He then said, ‘Why would one of you beat his wife as he would beat a slave, when perhaps he will lie with her at the end of that same day?’
