When one spouse becomes Muslim before the other Sunan Ibn Majah 2009
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلاَّدٍ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلمـ رَدَّ ابْنَتَهُ عَلَى أَبِي الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بَعْدَ سَنَتَيْنِ بِنِكَاحِهَا الأَوَّلِ .
Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that
the Messenger of Allah returned his daughter to Abul-'As bin Rabi' after two years, on the basis of the first marriage contract.
