Sunan Ibn Majah 1837
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " مَنْ يَتَقَبَّلُ لِي بِوَاحِدَةٍ وَأَتَقَبَّلُ لَهُ بِالْجَنَّةِ " قُلْتُ أَنَا . قَالَ " لاَ تَسْأَلِ النَّاسَ شَيْئًا " . قَالَ فَكَانَ ثَوْبَانُ يَقَعُ سَوْطُهُ وَهُوَ رَاكِبٌ فَلاَ يَقُولُ لأَحَدٍ نَاوِلْنِيهِ حَتَّى يَنْزِلَ فَيَأْخُذَهُ .

Ali ibn Muhammad narrated to us; Waki‘ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Dhi’b, from Muhammad ibn Qays, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid, from Thawban, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Whoever guarantees me one thing, I guarantee him Paradise.’ I said, ‘I will.’ He said, ‘Do not ask people for anything.’ Thawban would let his whip fall while he was riding and would not ask anyone to hand it to him; he would dismount and pick it up himself.
