Patience at the time of calamity Sunan Ibn Majah 4025
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَهُوَيَحْكِي نَبِيًّا مِنَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ ضَرَبَهُ قَوْمُهُ وَهُوَ يَمْسَحُ الدَّمَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ وَيَقُولُ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِقَوْمِي فَإِنَّهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ .
Translation
It was narrated that ‘Abdullah said
“It is as if I can see theMessenger of Allah (ﷺ), telling us the story of one of theProphets:‘His people beat him, and he was wiping the blood fromhis face andsaying: “O Lord forgive my people, for they do notknow.’”
