Anas reported: One day Jibril came to the Messenger of Allah while he was sitting sorrowfully, stained with blood after some people of Makkah had struck him. Jibril asked, ‘What is the matter?’ He replied, ‘These people have done this and that to me.’ Jibril asked, ‘Would you like me to show you a sign?’ He said, ‘Yes, show me.’ The Messenger of Allah looked at a tree beyond the valley and said, ‘Call that tree.’ He called it, and it came walking until it stood before him. Jibril said, ‘Tell it to return.’ He told it, and it returned to its place. The Messenger of Allah said, ‘That is enough for me.’
