Sunan Ibn Majah 4147
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، أَنْبَأَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ مِرَارًا " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ مَا أَصْبَحَ عِنْدَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَاعُ حَبٍّ وَلاَ صَاعُ تَمْرٍ " . وَإِنَّ لَهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ تِسْعَ نِسْوَةٍ .
Translation
Ahmad ibn Mani‘ narrated to us; al-Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us; Shayban informed us, from Qatadah, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) repeatedly say: “By the One in whose hand is Muhammad’s soul, the family of Muhammad had not, that morning, even a sa‘ of grain or a sa‘ of dates.” At that time he had nine wives.
