Sunan Ibn Majah 4155
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَأْمُرُ بِالصَّدَقَةِ فَيَنْطَلِقُ أَحَدُنَا يَتَحَامَلُ حَتَّى يَجِيءَ بِالْمُدِّ وَإِنَّ لأَحَدِهِمُ الْيَوْمَ مِائَةَ أَلْفٍ . قَالَ شَقِيقٌ كَأَنَّهُ يُعَرِّضُ بِنَفْسِهِ .
Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Numayr and Abu Kurayb narrated to us; they said: Abu Usamah narrated to us, from Za’idah, from al-A‘mash, from Shaqiq, from Abu Mas‘ud, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to urge us to give charity, and one of us would go out and work hard until he brought back a mudd. Yet today one of them has a hundred thousand.” Shaqiq said: It was as if he was alluding to himself.
