Sunan Ibn Majah 4161

Al-‘Abbas ibn ‘Uthman al-Dimashqi narrated to us; al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us; ‘Isa ibn ‘Abd al-A‘la ibn Abi Farwah narrated to us; Ishaq ibn Abi Talhah narrated to me, from Anas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by a domed structure at the door of a man from the Ansar and said: “What is this?” They replied: “A dome built by so-and-so.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Any wealth spent in this manner will be a burden upon its owner on the Day of Resurrection.” The Ansari heard this and dismantled it. Later the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by and did not see it. He asked about it and was told that its owner had dismantled it after hearing what he had said. He replied: “May Allah have mercy on him. May Allah have mercy on him.”
