Sunan Ibn Majah 4169
Arabic hadith text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " الْكَلِمَةُ الْحِكْمَةُ ضَالَّةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ حَيْثُمَا وَجَدَهَا فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهَا " .
Translation
‘Abd al-Rahman ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us; ‘Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Ibrahim ibn al-Fadl, from Sa‘id al-Maqburi, from Abu Hurayrah, who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “A wise saying is the believer’s lost property; wherever he finds it, he has the greatest right to it.”
