Sunan Ibn Majah 4176
حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ دَرَّاجًا، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " مَنْ يَتَوَاضَعْ لِلَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ دَرَجَةً يَرْفَعْهُ اللَّهُ بِهِ دَرَجَةً وَمَنْ يَتَكَبَّرْ عَلَى اللَّهِ دَرَجَةً يَضَعْهُ اللَّهُ بِهِ دَرَجَةً حَتَّى يَجْعَلَهُ فِي أَسْفَلِ السَّافِلِينَ " .
Harmalah ibn Yahya narrated to us; Ibn Wahb narrated to us; ‘Amr ibn al-Harith informed me that Darrij narrated to him, from Abu al-Haytham, from Abu Sa‘id, from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), who said: “Whoever humbles himself one degree for Allah, Glorified is He, Allah will raise him by one degree. Whoever shows arrogance toward Allah by one degree, Allah will lower him by one degree until He places him in the lowest of the low.”
