Sunan Ibn Majah 4192
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ الزَّمْعِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، أَنَّ عَامِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ ، لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ إِسْلاَمِهِمْ وَبَيْنَ أَنْ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ يُعَاتِبُهُمُ اللَّهُ بِهَا إِلاَّ أَرْبَعُ سِنِينَ {وَلاَ يَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَطَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الأَمَدُ فَقَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَكَثِيرٌ مِنْهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ} .
‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Abi Fudayk narrated to us, from Musa ibn Ya‘qub al-Zam‘i, from Abu Hazim, that ‘Amir ibn ‘Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr informed him that his father had informed him: There were only four years between their accepting Islam and the revelation of this verse, by which Allah reproached them: “Let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, then the time was prolonged for them and their hearts hardened; many of them were defiantly disobedient.”
