Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us; my father and Muhammad ibn Bishr narrated to us; they said: Isma‘il ibn Abi Khalid narrated to us, from Qays ibn Abi Hazim, who said: I heard al-Mustawrid, a brother of Banu Fihr, say: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “The likeness of this world in comparison with the Hereafter is like what one of you gets by dipping a finger into the sea. Let him see what he brings back.”
