Yahya ibn Habib ibn ‘Arabi narrated to us; Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Mujalid ibn Sa‘id al-Hamdani, from Qays ibn Abi Hazim al-Hamdani, who said: al-Mustawrid ibn Shaddad narrated to us: I was riding with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he came upon an abandoned young lamb. He said: “Do you think its owners considered it worthless?” They replied: “Messenger of Allah, they threw it away because it was worthless”—or words to that effect. He said: “By the One in whose hand is my soul, this world is more worthless to Allah than this is to its owners.”
