Unreviewed translation. All hadiths in this collection are available in five languages. Titles and introductions may remain in Arabic.

‘Imran ibn Husayn reported that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said: ‘There is no jلب, janab, or shighar in Islam. Whoever plunders something is not one of us.’ Al-Tirmidhi transmitted it. Its listed grading has not been studied (al-Albani).

  • لَا جَلَبَ وَلَا جَنَبَ وَلَا شِغَارَ

These are technical terms with several context-dependent interpretations; the source gives no explanation here.

Which legal senses of jalab and janab are intended in this wording? They have been retained in transliteration; shighar is likewise left as a technical term.
