Abyad ibn Hammal al-Maribi reported that he came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him to grant him the salt deposit at Marib. The Prophet granted it to him. When the man turned away, someone said, “Messenger of Allah, you have granted him a flowing, inexhaustible source.” So the Prophet took it back from him. Abyad also asked what could be designated as protected pasture among the arak trees. The Prophet replied: “Whatever the hooves of camels cannot reach.” Al-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, and al-Darimi narrated it.
