A man from the family of al-Khattab reported that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said: ‘Whoever visits me intentionally will be under my protection on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever resides in Madinah and patiently bears its hardships, I will be a witness and intercessor for him on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever dies in either of the two sanctuaries, Allah will resurrect him among the secure on the Day of Resurrection.’ Ibn ‘Umar also reported it as a prophetic narration: ‘Whoever performs Hajj and visits my grave after my death is like one who visited me during my lifetime.’ Al-Bayhaqi transmitted both in Shu‘ab al-Iman. The listed gradings are da‘if and da‘if (al-Albani).
