Muhammad ibn Abbad narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Amr, who heard it from Said ibn Abi Burdah, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him and Muadh to Yemen and said to them, Give glad tidings, make things easy, teach, and do not repel people. He said, I think he also said, Cooperate with one another. When they had departed, Abu Musa returned and said, Messenger of Allah, they have a drink made from honey that is boiled until it thickens, and mizr made from barley. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, Everything that intoxicates and turns one away from prayer is forbidden.
