Yahya ibn Yahya, Khalaf ibn Hisham, Abu al-Rabi, and Qutayba narrated to us, all from Hammad. Yahya said: Hammad ibn Zayd informed us, from Amr ibn Dinar, from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) set Dhul-Hulayfa for the people of Medina, al-Juhfa for the people of Syria, Qarn al-Manazil for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. He said: ‘These are their points, and they are also for anyone who passes through them from elsewhere intending Hajj or Umrah. Whoever is nearer than these points starts from where he is, and likewise each person from his own place—until the people of Mecca, who enter ihram from Mecca.’
