Translation

Unreviewed translation. All hadiths in this collection are available in five languages. Titles and introductions may remain in Arabic.

Ishaq ibn Ibrahim informed us: Ruh ibn Ubada narrated to us: Ibn Jurayj narrated to us: Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) being asked about the point for entering ihram. He said: ‘I heard—’ Then he paused and said: ‘I think he means the Prophet (ﷺ).’

Notes and open questions — unreviewed
  • The Arabic report breaks off after I heard, then records a pause and the narrator's tentative identification of the Prophet as the speaker.

  • فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ - ثُمَّ، انْتَهَى فَقَالَ أُرَاهُ يَعْنِي - النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم

The report ends abruptly after I heard, and the following phrase is explicitly tentative; the source does not supply the continuation.

Can a reliable parallel provide the omitted continuation, or should this incomplete wording stand as translated?
