Yahya ibn Yahya, Abu al-Rabi al-Zahrani, and Qutayba ibn Sa'id narrated to us, all from Hammad. Yahya said: Hammad ibn Zayd informed us, from Amr, from Jabir ibn Zayd, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), while delivering a sermon, say: ‘Trousers are for one who cannot find a waist-wrapper, and leather socks are for one who cannot find sandals.’ He meant a person in ihram.
