Muhammad ibn Hatim and Abd ibn Humayd narrated to me, both from Muhammad ibn Bakr. Abd said: Muhammad informed us. Ibn Jurayj informed us: Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) being asked about the point for entering ihram. He said: ‘I heard—I think he traced it back to the Prophet (ﷺ)—say: The point for entering ihram for the people of Medina is Dhul-Hulayfa, and the other route is al-Juhfa; the point for the people of Iraq is Dhat Irq; the point for the people of Najd is Qarn; and the point for the people of Yemen is Yalamlam.’
