Sammak said: Al-Sha'bi maintained that al-Numan attributed this hadith to the Prophet (ﷺ), but I did not hear him do so. The report says: Allah is more pleased with a servant's repentance than a man who loaded provisions onto his camel, traveled into a barren land, and stopped under a tree at midday. Sleep overcame him and his camel wandered off. He searched from one rise to another, finding nothing, then returned to his place. As he sat there, his camel came walking up and placed its reins in his hand. Allah is more pleased with a servant's repentance than that man was to find his camel as it was. Al-Numan ibn Bashir delivered this report as a sermon.
Al-Bara ibn Azib reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: What do you think of the joy of a man whose camel, carrying his food and drink, breaks loose in a barren land with no food or water? He searches for it until exhausted. Then it passes a tree, its reins catch on the trunk, and he finds it caught there. We said: He would be overjoyed, O Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah said: By Allah, Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His servant than that man is to find his camel. Jaafar said: Ubaidullah ibn Iyad narrated this from his father.

Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if you did not sin, Allah would remove you and bring another people who would sin, seek Allah's forgiveness, and be forgiven.
