Prohibition of Gold for Men Sunan an-Nasa'i 5151
Arabic hadith text
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي شَيْخٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ، وَعِنْدَهُ، جَمْعٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلمنَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ إِلاَّ مُقَطَّعًا قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ
Translation
It was narrated from Abu Shaikh that he heard Mu'awiyah say,
When a group of the Companions of Muhammad [SAW] were with him: "Do you know that the Prophet of Allah [SAW] forbade wearing gold unless it was broken (into smaller pieces)?" They said: "By Allah, yes."
