Reports Used by Those Who Permit the Drinking of Intoxicants
Arabic hadith text
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ بْنُ صَمْعَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي وَالِدَتِي، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا سُئِلَتْ عَنِ الأَشْرِبَةِ، فَقَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلميَنْهَى عَنْ كُلِّ مُسْكِرٍ . وَاعْتَلُّوا بِحَدِيثِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
Translation
It was narrated that 'Aishah was asked about drinks and she said
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to forbid all intoxicants." And they use the narration of 'Abdullah bin Shaddad from 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas.
