The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever sends salah upon me once, Allah (SWT) will send salah upon him tenfold."

Meaning of "Salah"

The term "salah" upon the Prophet refers to invoking blessings and mercy from Allah upon him. When Allah sends salah upon a servant, it signifies divine mercy, forgiveness, blessings, and elevation in status.

This hadith establishes the immense virtue of sending blessings upon the Prophet. The tenfold reward demonstrates Allah's boundless generosity. Scholars explain this multiplication applies to both the quality and quantity of divine mercy bestowed upon the believer.

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani notes this reward is specific to the Prophet's unique status. Al-Nawawi emphasizes this practice should be frequent, particularly during prayer and when hearing the Prophet's name.

Practical Implementation

The minimum form is: "Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad" (O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad). The complete form includes his family: "Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa 'ala ali Muhammad."

Recommended occasions include: during tashahhud in prayer, after adhan, when entering/leaving mosques, during gatherings, and whenever the Prophet is mentioned.
