أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَقَامَ فَصَفَّ بِنَا كَمَا يُصَفُّ عَلَى الْجَنَازَةِ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ‏.‏

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said

"The Messenger of Allah announced the death of An-Najashi to his Companions in Al-Madinah, so they formed rows behind him and he offered the funeral prayer for him, saying the Takbir four times."
